“The Rooted Within Held and Healing Retreat was truly a sacred and restorative experience. What stood out most was how seamlessly all of the facilitators — without any visible coordination — held a unified tone of presence. There was a consistent thread of be still, breathe, observe, witness without needing to fix. That alone felt profoundly regulating. Debbie’s presentation on joy was especially meaningful. She reminded us that joy is not the opposite of frustration or fatigue — that we can stand in the paradox of holding multiple emotions at once. Joy is not denial; it is an inner well that bubbles up even alongside life’s complexities. Lori’s somatic exercises were powerful and tender — whispering to one another what we needed to hear as young women or children was deeply moving. Her distinction between happiness (externally dependent) and joy (internally sourced) felt clarifying and empowering. KK’s sound bath and Jen’s yoga offerings created beautiful space for integration. The breathwork activation and down-regulation sessions provided both release and restoration. The rhythm of the weekend — presentations, embodiment practices, downtime, shared meals, even the brown bag hike — felt intentional and balanced. Most of all, the environment allowed women who are often holding so much, to exhale. To feel held. To remember they are loved. To know there is nothing wrong with them. It felt like we were each holding a different thread of the same tapestry — distinct gifts woven into one coherent field of care. I felt honored to be part of the weekend. It truly felt God-orchestrated.”
